Check out more of my photos for a visual tour of Mendoza, Argentina :) It was a nice, long weekend and great to escape the big city again. The craziest part of the trip was leaving Santiago at 10pm last Thursday night and woken up around 3:30am to go through customs as we were crossing the border into Argentina. We all know I hate waking up, and it was freezing outside as we had to wait in two lines to have our passports checked and then a third line for our bags to be searched. Note to self, no more crossing the border in the middle of the night. Fortunately, I slept pretty well in the 'semi-cama' bus once we got back on.
Upon arrival on Friday, we crashed for a few hours and then walked around the cute town. Unfortunately everything was closed for el Día del Trabajo (Labor Day), but it was nice to walk through the park and relax. We went on a vineyard/olive oil factory tour on Saturday, so of course I was happy. Argentina's best wine is malbec, as opposed to Chile's Carmenere. I like them both...obvio, I love vino :) We also had some yummy steak dinners over the weekend...you can't go to Argentina and not eat steak!
One of the highlights for me from the weekend was the view on the way home. It was absolutely incredible driving through the Andes (obviously I didn't see anything on the way there driving through the night). Definitely check out the photos for yourself!
Grace and love on your week,
LG
